The Airport

Siargao has its own airport: Sayak Airport (IAO), located about 45 minutes from General Luna. Budget an hour if traffic is against you. It's a small airport. You walk from the plane directly onto the tarmac, pass through a simple terminal, and you're out. No long corridors, no luggage carousels that take forever. The pace shifts the moment you land.

One small thing to know: there is a 20 PHP terminal fee when you exit the airport. Make sure you have small change before you arrive.

Flying From Manila

There are no longer any direct flights from Manila to Siargao. All routes go via Cebu, with a connection at Mactan–Cebu International Airport. Plan for a full day of travel.
